This chapter discusses some events that occurred when David was king over Judah, and Saul's son, Ishbosheth was king over the other tribes in the north. Many people were pushing for David to take the whole kingdom, and even many of David's enemies realized that God had anointed David to be the next king over all of Israel, instead of any of Saul's sons. All throughout David's life, he never attempted to take matters into his own hands to secure his kingdom. As Saul chased him through the country, David never took opportunities to kill Saul even when he had opportunities to do so. He knew that Saul was God's anointed king, and that God would take care of the who ordeal. view full entry
