What's a Journaler Level?

You may have noticed that user's have a journaler level on their profile, or displayed next to their name in a comment. Journaler levels are simply a measure of how much you have contributed to the site. You gain points whenever you add a new entry, comment on someone else's entry, or even receive a comment on one of your own entries.

Right now the only benefit of being a top journaler is a prominent display on the community page. However, some other interesting uses are in the works, so keep a lookout.

How Do I Add an Entry?

Adding a new entry should be pretty straight-forward, however continue reading if you are having problems.

Step 1: Choose Book Type

The first choice is the type of book that you studied. If you read a passage from the Bible, choose "The Bible." If you read another book such as a morning devotional book, choose "Another Book".

Next choose the book you read. If you read another book, and it does not appear in the dropdownlist, enter the title of the book in the textfield next to the dropdownlist.

Step 2: Enter Section Title or Chapters

If you read a non-bible book, simply enter the title of what you read, such as "January 1st," or "Stewardship is Good." If you read something from the Bible, enter the chapters. Please make sure you enter the chapters only, and not the verses. As an example, say you read Genesis 1 and 2. In the chapters textbox you would type "1-2". Say you read Genesis 1-2 and also chapter 7. You would then type "1-2, 7".

Step 3: Choose Topics

Next choose the topics that describe what you read. When you choose a topic from the dropdownlist, it will appear in the textbox below. If you can't find the topic you want listed, simply type it into the textbox manually. Seperate all of your topics with commas.

Step 4: Enter Your Thoughts

The last step is to enter your thoughts, or a summary of what you read. After that, choose whether to make the entry public or private, then you're done!
