The first part of Luke 4 is about the temptations Christ faced in the wilderness. I usually read this story from Matthew, however when reading it in Luke there is a big difference in the wording. Verse 2 says "being tempted for fourty days by the devil..."

Traditionally, the view is that Jesus was tempted after the fourty days, but with this wording it appears as though it is saying that Jesus was tempted all throughout the 40 days. In other words, Satan was throwing his best temptations at Jesus for 40 straight days. This puts the whole ordeal in a whole new light!
